Earth?…a Poem

Q: Earth?…a Poem

A: Raw, molten, fire, and crackles,

On this edge…you begin.

From the darkness,

An emergence.

So delicate.

So green.

A sprout.

Life, and with it comes a power.

Vulnerability pressing into possibility.

You remain.

And not only remain, you grow.

You become.

And in this becoming…

A thunderous roar,

Nothing can stop you.

Except you.

Tsunamis, earthquakes, fires, and floods.

You are a power of radical force.

Nature.

Alive.

Generous.

Teacher.

You are our mother.

In Earth we trust.

More than we trust ourselves…

Our mirror.

Our guide.

Reflecting now, a new health.

A new future.

Inviting us forward.

Calling us from within.

Your children.

May we revere your deep philosophy to show not tell.

We see you.

Finally.

Through the parting smog,

The birds sing of what may be.

If only we listen.

If only we listen.

“Press your heart into the dirt...

Feel me,” you speak in heartbeats…

Beating,

Beating,

The rhythm of life,

Aligning.

Divining.

Intertwining…

“There is only now,” you whisper in knowing…

Now,

Now,

Now,

“You remember you are my child.

And from where you come,

And to where you shall return.

You are born of me,

With a soul of the stars.

A mutual affection of the miraculous,

And you are alive.

From this symphony,

Of sexual creativity,

Of stars, of earth, the mixed medium that you are.

Only to find yourself here,

Now.

With a message,

Hidden in your heart.

Ready to be read aloud,

Before an audience of dear friends and lovers...

Who know you,

Who see you,

Who witness you,

Becoming you.”

You, oh nature within nature,

Through your endless divinity.

Your reflection upon reflection,

Arising from within me.

A kiss for you,

We kiss the ground.

In honor of you...

Our sky of dirt,

Our clouds of trees,

Our birds in seas,

Inside,

Outside,

As above,

So below,

You are our mother.

You weep for us,

And hold us near.

There is refuge here,

Inside of you.

Embrace us,

Forgive us,

Encourage the best in us,

Please don’t forget us,

Don’t give up on us...

For we are yours,

And we are here.

On our knees,

With empty hands.

Ready to receive you,

Finally, in this age of pure lessons.

You bring the wisdom upon your lightning,

And we are ready...

Come what may.

Come what may.

In you, we trust,

To you, we surrender.

With you, we love.

We love.

We love.

We love…you Mother Earth.
